The following is a statement from a large group of revolutionary prisoners in Umraniye prison, Istanbul, Turkey. The original petition was typewritten in Turkish with the signatures of the seventy-eight prisoners next to each of their names. It was received in the CSRP office late November 1999. Thousand Salutes to Comrade Feliciano
After the capture of Oscar Ramirez, known as "Comrade Feliciano" of the PCP, imperialist and their reactionary servants all declared the ultimate defeat of the people's struggle in Peru. Servant of the USA, fascist dictator Fujimori nowadays is repeating a phrase about the Peruvian revolution that we are used to hearing here in Turkey: "We have finished it," "We have destroyed the roots of terrorism."
In reality they themselves don't believe their own rhetoric; the false victory cries is not enough to suppress the fear of the "inevitable end."
That's because the response of the Peruvian peoples under the leadership of the Communist Party of Peru to increased military assaults of the counter revolutionary forces after the capture of "President Gonzalo," to arranged "peace letters" under the unblemished name of Gonzalo; to all efforts of liquidation; was to continue along the revolutionary path, to repair the damage received and to raise the peoples struggle to a higher level. It is proven by the practice of Peoples Struggle that the Peruvian Communist Party and Peruvian people, by staying on the right track, can repulse all kinds of counter revolutionary attacks; that today the Peruvian revolution has the necessary strength to raise new leaders.
That's because the world revolution history many times has witnessed how the most ferocious attacks of counter revolutionary forces can be repulsed by the revolutionary struggle of people and the international proletariat ...
The capture of Comrade Feliciano, the general secretary of PCP-MK, is a major loss for the Peruvian revolution. But in this difficult period of Peruvian revolution, the clenched fist of "Comrade Feliciano" is still a guiding force to the Peruvian people and the PCP, and a source of inspiration to us, even under these conditions.
We, the revolutionary prisoners in Umraniye (Istanbul,Turkey) prison salute Comrade Feliciano's revolutionary path of resistance; and state that we will continue to wave the flag of revolution and resistance in our land, shoulder to shoulder with our comrades in Peru, Philippines, Nepal, Colombia, Greece ... all over the world who have been resisting counter revolution and a policy of liquidation. We are calling all revolutionary forces to support Comrade Feliciano and Peruvian revolution, as an expression of resistance to world wide counter revolutionary attack and wave of liquidation, staged by the Imperialists and their reactionary servants.
